I am passionate about library services making meaningful impact and connections that enable their communities to thrive.

I am a library and information professional who uses collaborative, human-centred and evidence-based practice approaches to drive and inform service strategy, design, and continuous improvement.

15 years of professional experience spans across library and information management sectors, including research, government recordkeeping and academic libraries. Together with qualifications in business, library and information science and psychology, my knowledge enables me to analyse and understand problems and questions about professional practice, gather the right, best available evidence to better inform strategic decisions about service delivery and how the service can share compelling stories about their impact.

Evidence-based practice is my jam.

2025 will mark the second year and intake of the ‘Evidence Based Practice for Library and Information Professionals’ (EBLIP) course. I designed this course to enable participants to develop an evidence-based practice mindset, with a toolbox of approaches for their own professional practice. I have thoroughly enjoyed bringing this course to life and in service to the library and information professional community.

Find out more about the ‘Evidence Based Practice for Library and Information Professionals’ (EBLIP) course here.

I can’t wait to welcome you!

I worked as the Research Support Librarian at the University of the Sunshine Coast where I led evidence-based approaches to position the library to meet the university’s growing research capacity. Collaborating with other university research support partners, I developed a sustainable, client-centred service model and research training program.

Also, I was the inaugural Coordinator, Evidence Based Practice at the University of Southern Queensland. Here, I worked with individuals and teams across the library to develop EBP capacity. From identifying and coordinating the gathering evidence, to the application of evidence to decision making and communication with stakeholders.

Professional contribution and qualifications

Additionally, I have contributed to the library and information professional community in various roles over the years. Roles have included chairperson for Australian Library and Information Association’s (ALIA) New Generation Advisory Committee and a mentor in the ALIA 2023-2024 Mentoring Scheme. I received the ALIA Metcalfe Award in 2017, followed by the ALIA ‘Distinguished Certified Professional’ status in 2021.

Qualifications include a Bachelor of Business (Marketing and Public Relations) from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and a Master of Information Technology (Library and Information Science) in 2013. I will complete a Graduate Diploma in Psychology from the University of Adelaide in 2025.

Outside of the library and information profession, I’m a mum to two, energetic and wonderful boys, a wife and a yoga teacher. I start my days with meditation and a cup of tea. I enjoy being active in the school community (reading groups are the best!). And I always look forward to the next travel adventure with the family.
